How often should I get my chimney inspected?
At least once a year, per NFPA guidelines — even if you barely used the fireplace that season. Weather, animals, and settling can all cause damage independent of use.
What's the difference between a chimney sweep and an inspection?
A sweep removes creosote and debris. An inspection evaluates the structure and flue for damage. Most of our customers combine both in one chimney sweep inspection visit.
Do I need a Level 2 inspection when selling my home?
Yes. Most lenders and home inspectors require it as part of a real estate transaction, since it documents the chimney's condition at time of sale.
How long does an inspection take?
A Level 1 typically runs 30–45 minutes. Level 2, with video scanning and additional access points, usually takes closer to an hour.
